Instructions for submitting abstracts
Please, submit your abstract online via the Abstract Submission form provided on the Conference web page. Confirmation E-mail will be sent automatically. Please note that automatic e-mail confirmation may sometimesbe blocked by institutional networks/spam filters.
If you do not receive confirmation by e-mail, please contact the PCO (check your e-mail address). If for some valid reason, you are unable to submit your abstract in the format described on the website, or if you encounter any problems with your online abstract submission, please contact the PCO, as listed on the web page.
Notification of abstracts acceptance and selected type of presentation (oral/poster) will be sent electronically to the corresponding author by July 1st 2011. Please note that all presenters (invited speakers excluded) must pay the Conference registration fee and are responsible for their own accomodation and transportation costs. Only the abstracts of the registered presenters will be included in the Final Program and Abstract Book.
In case the same author presents more than one abstract, one of the co-authors should be registered additionally for each other abstract.
Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author to present their work at assigned times at the Conference if accepted.
Material presented at the meeting must be substantively identical to that presented in the abstract.
Author Guidelines
Abstracts should be submitted through our online submission system
Abstracts must be submitted in English (please, have your abstract proofread for grammar and understanding)
Abstract should contain only original material not published elsewhere prior to the Conference
Abstracts should not exceed 350 words and should be concise and clear, higlighting the most relevant aspects, findings and conclusions
Please structure your abstract using the following:
Objectives
Methods
Results
Conclusion
Text should be written in Times New Roman font, size 11, with each header bolded
Title of the abstract should be limited to 15 words
All abbreviations must be defined the first time they appear in your text. Abbreviations must not be used in the title
Please do not include any tables, charts or other graphics in the abstract
Authors should indicate their presentation preference - poster presentation only // oral or poster presentation. The Scientific/Reading Committee reserve the right to decide on the final allocation and type of presentation
Each submission can have one or more authors; please designate the presenting author as the contact author
Use generic names. Commercial drug names may not be used
Write down two to four key words. Key words will be used to facilitate reviewer assignments and thematic grouping of posters and/or platform presentations in the program
Disclosure: author must disclose any significant financial or other relationship with, the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) or service(s) discussed in their presentation. This is necessary to make participants aware of all speakers' financial or other relationship(s), so that attendees may form their own judgements about data discussed in the presentation
A "blind" selection process will be used. No identifying features such as names of institutions, mediacal schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or text of the abstract. Do not include the names of authors either in the abstract text file
Reviewing Procedure and Selection
Submmited abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific/Reading Committee before they are accepted
Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of originality, scientific significance, content and relevance to topics. The Scientific/Reading Committee reserves the right to assign papers for oral or poster presentation
Notification of abstracts acceptance and selected type of presentation (oral/poster) will be sent electronically to the corresponding/contact author by June 1st 2011
For your abstract to be included in the final scientific program, it is mandatory to register for the congress and to settle payment as soon as you have received the notification of abstract acceptance
By submitting an abstract, copyrights are transmitted automatically to the 11th International Conference on Osteogenesis Imperfecta. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Final Program and Abstract Book
